Schoharie Scary Horror Film Fest

GREAT TURNOUT
                           FOR YEAR ONE!

Everyone had a ball at the 1st Annual Schoharie Scary. The film program ran from noon till 8 PM, and the audience was riveted throughout. Only with great reluctance did they stir toward the toilets or go grab a bite to quell their growling stomachs. Thanks to all who came out in support of our first year. You were a great audience!

THE HORROR OF CORNHOLE COVE
TAKES TOP PRIZE!

We are happy to announce that the mind-blowing Australian film THE HORROR OF CORNHOLE COVE not only received its world premier at SSHFF 2007, but has won the Wes Craven Award for Creative Excellence! Congratulations guys on a very inventive and challenging film. Watching from the back I can honestly tell you that the audience was caught by surprise by this one, with reactions ranging from flat out flabbergasted to falling into the aisles laughing. A clear hit to be sure.

TWISTED INSANITY
WINS FOR BEST SHORT

This delightful short from OpticNerveProductions2002 of Lancashire, England delighted the crowd no end, and has received kudos as Best Short at SSHFF 2007. Well done folks!

We thank all of this year's entrants for some very fine work. We truly had a top notch program from start to finish. Special thanks to Bruce Hallenbeck from Albany, NY for being on hand to introduce his new feature, THE DROWNED. Thanks also to Schoharie County filmmaker Edward Holland for coming out to introduce his short THE LION'S DEN, which is the first installment of a new web series he is creating with partner Fred Paul for Freaky Father Films.

Everyone at SSHFF is looking forward to our next year, and we hope to see more from all of you, as well as from new directors from around the globe.

Please stay tuned for developments and new entry forms for SSHFF 2008 --
