THE DROWNED is a psychological ghost story in the tradition of such classic films as THE INNOCENTS and THE HAUNTING. Filmed entirely on location in Columbia County, New York, it tells the story of a young woman named Kate Williams, recently divorced, who inherits her grandmother’s cottage on Merrow’s Lake, a secluded woodland setting where she spent summers as a child. But she is haunted by her memories... and perhaps something else.
Pagan Productions was officially formed in February 2005 by independent filmmakers Bruce and Rosa Hallenbeck in the sleepy community of Valatie, in upstate New York. Bruce has been writing, directing, and acting in his own films since the age of thirteen. His first “professional” venture, VAMPYRE, was released in 1991 by Panorama Entertainment. Bruce has since written and directed several more films, including FANGS (1992), BLOOD OF THE WEREWOLF (2001), LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT (2005), and his latest feature, THE DROWNED (2006). Pagan Pictures is dedicated to promoting and producing quality films on an indie budget.
